Eliot takes a break : for at least 4 days now (since 6th September) he is 4km from the ocean and about 85km North-east from the town of Maturin, Venezuela.
Eliot is still on the move : 2nd September he travelled about 45 km between 4.00 a.m. and 6.30 a.m., crossing the Orinoco delta into Mariusa National Park (otherwise known as Parque Nacional Delta del Orínoco).
Eliot has just crossed the border into Guyana. He is now at about 20km from Corriverton, a town at the mouth of the Courantyne River, bordering with Suriname.
After having crossed the river-border Maroni, Eliot is today at less than 15 km from Paramaribo, Surinam’s capital.
Eliot seems to be now in some old agricultural polders, partially covers with forest. This bird seems to have itchy feet as he already travelled around 280 km, in a linear (…)
