Action Cock-of-the-rock: the formation of a committee for observation and action in the field

The setting up of a joint action plan for the Guianan Cock-of-the-rock began with bilateral meetings with the Company of Guides, the ONF and mineral companies in the course of which the association introduced the programme Life+ Cap DOM and more precisely its action plan to help the Guianan Cock-of-the-rock. The association will next meet FEDOMG (the Federation of Mineral Operators of French Guiana) and INTERPROBOIS (the Interprofessional Association for Forests & Wood) to prepare the organisation of a first plenary meeting of a committee for observation and action in the field.

At the same time, telemetry instruments have been ordered, the first explorations of Kaw Mountain have been made, the monthly report on known sites of nidification on Mount Kaw is going ahead and two prototypes of faeces collectors have already been put in place to study the feeding habits of the species.
