GEPOG presents Life+ Cap DOM projects at Paramaribo

At the beginning of August, GEPOG attended the III International Congress on Biodiversity of the Guiana Shield. The Life+ Cap DOM programme was illustrated by three poster sessions, on the Guinean Cock-of-the rock, the Agami Heron, and the savannahs study.

This congress enabled the various players interested in the Guinean plateau (French Guiana, Suriname, Guyana, Venezuela, Columbia and Brazil) to meet – to maintain the regional momentum in biodiversity conservation at a trans-national level, and to emphasise a social approach that takes into account the various cultural groups involved. A large number of translators was present to make these exchanges possible, in seven languages over four days.
