Identifying a network of sites on La Réunion

Under the Life+ Cap DOM framework, SEOR has been given the task of identifying a network of sites of ornithological interest. As the EU ’Birds & Habitats’ Directive is not applicable in the overseas territories, the Natura/Habitats 2000 framework does not exist here. So, through this initiative, Life+ Cap DOM is proposing other solutions to protect those sites that are important for bird conservation.

Nicolas Laurent, Life+ Cap DOM Project Leader at SEOR outlines the procedures and possibilities.
