Researching the Tuit-tuit, or Réunion Cuckooshrike, is not a trivial undertaking. Every year, during the breeding season, teams from SEOR go through the same ritual. They take up a strategic position, such as near a old nest-site, and listen out for the male which, at this period, only sings as he approaches the nest. Once the nest is located, the fledglings can be ringed, and valuable information obtained about the bird’s lifestyle. The video shows a typical day’s activity at the nest of this species.
