New technology for the White-breasted Thrasher

The University of the Antilles and French Guiana (UAG), alongside l’AOMA, is taking part in a Life+ Cap DOM project to develop a system that will enable them to track endangered birds automatically.

A plan for the detection and reporting of non-natural factors that have an influence on the White-breasted Thrasher of Martinique

The LAMIA laboratory (Laboratory of Mathematical Information-technology and its Applications), has specialised in the technology of wireless sensor networks. A wireless sensor is a piece of equipment that can be programmed to detect and recognise certain physical factors within the environment (the presence of the species, the exact time …).

The objective is twofold : to provide an automated method of gathering physical information about the White-breasted Thrasher (Moqueur gorge-blanche) and to characterise the habitat of that endangered species.
