The Cock-of-the-rock needs you!

The Guianan Cock-of-the-rock is an endemic species of the French Guianan plateau and has been a protected species since 1986. Present only where mountainous outcrops offer favourable conditions for reproduction (lekking sites, caves and places sheltered by rocks to nest in) the Cock-of-the-rock is very sensitive to any change in its nesting habitat.

GEPOG invites you to send it your observations to help it improve its understanding of this emblematic bird so that conservation measures can be set up that reconcile human activities and the maintenance of the Cock-of-the-rock’s population.
