To the health of Life + Cap DOM

On Thursday nearly 200 people joined in a toast to the health of “Life+ Cap DOM”, at a giant punch party.

Participants at Ménigoute since its inception, staff from the partner associations and of the Réunion National Park came to present the programme and activities planned on French Guiana, Martinique and Réunion Island.

Many people joined in the aperitif, glad to participate in this event, during which, well into the evening, they discussed endangered birdlife and enjoyed punch and nibbles provided by the French Guiana Tourist Board and the Rum Society of Mauritius.

The presence of overseas participants at Ménigoute is nothing new. Since its early years their representatives have made the journey to take part to raise awareness of birdlife overseas. It is therefore quite appropriate that the launch of Life+ Cap DOM, the first European inter-DOM and multi-association programme for the conservation of endangered birdlife, should take place at this welcoming festival, for everyone’s pleasure!
