[Video] The STOC in French Guiana

Since 2012, GEPOG has been running a STOC (point count) survey in French Guiana, along with the LPO and MNHN. This participative scientific tool is used to follow the populations of common birds over time, thanks to the help of volunteer observers. Each participant follows a standard route, stopping to listen at 10 points, this routine being carried out twice a year. Since the survey was started, GEPOG has trained more than 40 volunteers, who in turn are able to train future participants. Olivier Claessens, Project Leader for Life+ Cap DOM, reviews this tool and its operation in French Guiana.
